Armi Ratia, Marimekko
Marimekko a finnish business of textile and the clothing business. It was invented in 1951, by Armi Ratia and her husband Viljo Ratia. Marimekko designs and produces clothes, textiles and accessories with the brand of Marimekko. Marimekko doesn't sell only in Finland but also in many other countryes. Marimekko does have own stores, in Finland 23, and also in Europe including in England, Germany and Sweden. Ari Ratia doesn't live anymore, but she was a legend, espeaially for me. She invented a really good and successful company. Ari Ratia gave her whole life to this company.
Armi Ratia was born in 1912died in 1979 in Finland. She was one of the popularest businessman in Finland. Ratia did work in fabric or clothing business whole her life. She studied arts and crafts when she was younger. In 1951 she invented Marimekko, and it became a huge success in Finland. I think Armi Ratia is really important person for all in Finland. Everyone has something what is bought from Marimekko, maybe clothes, bags, towels, sheets or some tableware. Everyone also does recognises the print of Marimekko, the original flower. There has been named a park for Armi Ratia in Helsinki, Kaivopuisto.
I use a lot of Marimekko stuff, clothes, but the most in my home there are sheets, towels, coffeecups and all my makeup bags are from Marimekko. I think the fabric is nice, and I like to use them because they are strong, and don't get broken. Also my mom has been a Marimekko fan for whole her life, so Marimekko has been close to me and in my home already when I was a kid. That's why I chose to write about the inventer of Marimekko.
